Lights On! MinistryMeeting physical, emotional and spiritual needs where and whenever they are found. "What I’m interested in seeing you do is sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families. Do this and the lights will turn on, and your lives will turn around at once." Psalms, The Message Bible. Our mission is clear: to be Christ's hands and feet and heart to those we come across in our daily lives. Beginning with meeting the needs of children and their families living in sub-poverty conditions in a rural trailer park to where God leads us next, WHOA Ministries and our volunteers share God's love with a hurting world. Lights have, indeed, been turned on in three ways for these children: the physical lights were turned on for the children at the clubhouse, the lights were turned on in their hearts because they now feel that have not been forgotten, and that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light, and we lead them in Bible Studies showing them the light by knowing Jesus on a personal level. In November 2009, WHOA Ministries and Lights On were able to serve 350 Thanksgiving Meals to these children’s families. Every family in the trailer park received a turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, macaroni and cheese, pumpkin pie, and canned goods. For Christmas 2009, 60 children received lovingly donated and wrapped presents for Christmas including, pajamas, toiletries, clothes, and toys. Contact us if you would like to be a part of turning the Lights On for the needy in your community. |
